An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system is an electrical apparatus that provides emergency power to a load when the input power source, typically mains power fails. A UPS is typically used to protect hardware such as computers, data centers, telecommunication equipment or other electrical equipment where an unexpected power disruption could cause injuries, fatalities, serious business disruption or data loss. UPS units range in size from units designed to protect a single computer to large units powering entire data centers or buildings.

An Inverter is a device that converts DC power (also known as direct current), to standard AC power (alternating current). Inverters are used to operate electrical equipment from the power produced by a battery or renewable energy sources, like solar panels or wind turbines. DC power is what batteries store, while AC power is what most electrical appliances need to run so an inverter is necessary to convert the power into a usable form. It is designed to meet up with the power demand in the offices and in homes in the absence of power supply from the MAINS GRID.

It is designed in such a way that it will take up DC from battery and inverts it to an output of 220/415 V, 50Hz AC. It makes no noise during operation and no hazardous carbon monoxide is generated in the surrounding.

A battery is a device consisting of two or more electrochemical cells that convert stored chemical energy into electrical energy. Each cell contains a positive terminal, or cathode and a negative terminal, or anode. Electrolytes allow ions to move between the electrodes and terminals, which allows current to flow out of the battery to perform work.

Batteries come in many shapes and sizes, from miniature cells used to power hearing aids and wristwatches to battery banks the size of rooms that provide standby power for telephone exchange and computer data centers.
